Mr. Rea, began his health care career in the field of emergency medicine as a Mobile Intensive Care Technician (Paramedic) for Sedgwick County EMS. In conjunction with his career in EMS, Rea was hired as a faculty member for Wichita State University’s Allied Health Program, in which he was involved in lecturing and coordinating field internships for both E.M.T. and the M.I.C.T. programs. Mr. Rea remains on staff at WSU consulting with various department heads, coordinating, and teaching Basic Life Support classes. After 4 years of service with Sedgwick Co. EMS he expanded his skills and desire for patient care by becoming a Flight Paramedic with Eagle Med, flying both in rotor and fixed wing aircraft. Along with providing critical care while employed at Eagle Med, Mr. Rea was actively involved in public relations for the company.

In 2002, Rea entered the field of Long-Term-Care as Administrator of a 54-bed Skilled Nursing Facility. Mr. Rea was instrumental in developing a team that reduced state and federal deficiencies from 32 to 6 in two years. Under his direction, many quality improvement systems were implemented that improved resident care, re-established community involvement, and boosted overall operational efficiency. Since then he has successfully managed 6 assisted living communities totaling 238 units and two Skilled Nursing Facilities including a Continuing Care Retirement Community Campus with 144 resident units.

Mr. Rea holds a B.S. degree in Health Care Management and is a licensed adult care home administrator. He is a member of Kansas Adult Care Executives and has served as a Board member since Aug. of 2008. Mr. Rea holds numerous other certifications.
